The course "Oxygen First Aid in
Dive Accidents" will introduce divers to better recognize possible dive-related
injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid. It also provides an excellent
opportunity for experienced divers and instructors to continue their education.

 | Effects of oxygen on the body, benefits of using oxygen in diving emergencies. |

Take Action...
 | Recognize signs and symptoms of major dive accidents including near drowning and
decompression illness (AGE and DCS). |
 | Identify all component parts of an oxygen kit and learn proper assembly, deployment and
use. |
 | Provide oxygen to an injured diver by demand inhalator valve and mask, and constant-flow
with non-rebreather mask. |
 | Practice mouth to mouth rescue breathing using a pocket mask with supplemental oxygen
inlet. |
